Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions to September 2019
11 March 2020
Our department has released the latest Quarterly Update of Australia’s National Greenhouse Gas Inventory. This report provides estimates of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions up to the September quarter 2019.
The government uses the inventory to track progress towards emission reduction targets under the Paris Agreement and other international climate change treaties. This fulfils its reporting obligations under those treaties, and informs domestic climate change policies and programs, and future emission reduction targets.
It’s part of a series of comprehensive reports and databases, previously published by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, on Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions.
